Benjamin (Benjie) Cribb is an operations leader at UL Solutions. He currently lives in the U.S., working out of the UL Solutions Research Triangle Park (RTP) office in Durham, N.C.
Cribb has worked at UL Solutions since 1999. He has 20 years of experience in optical radiation product safety evaluations, and he participated in the development of UL 2849 (e-bikes) from the Outline of Investigation to the binational published Standard. He also provides input to the IECEE Technical Committees for Optical Radiation by working with UL Solutions Principal Engineer Winn Henderson.
Cribb’s experience also includes electrical safety evaluations of various UL end-product Standards, as well as work with optical radiation and micromobility (UL 2849, UL 2272, UL 2271) evaluations.
In his role at UL Solutions, Cribb evaluates products to the optical radiation safety standards (mainly IEC 62471, the IEC 60825 series, FDA/CDRH 21 CFR and UL 2849). He also manages the optical radiation and product safety team located at UL Solutions RTP.
Cribb is one of the first points of contact and support for UL Solutions staff (end-product safety evaluations) with questions related to optical radiation.
Cribb is a member of the Standards Develop Process, UL Management team, and the UL Process/Development Improvement team and is an IECEE technical assessor.
